Community Liaison Officer
After completing a Diploma of Community Welfare, Bahsan has spent the last 13 years in community work. Previously she’s worked at the Migrant Resource Centre, where she created community initiatives and programs for Somali elderly men and women.
In 2017, Bahsan joined Himilo Community Connect. At Himilo, Bahsan liaisons with Women’s Health Group and Playgroup Victoria, in which she creates recreational programs for Somali women and children. After fleeing the civil war in Somalia, Bahsan is deeply invested in the growth and empowerment of the Somali community in Australia.
Outside of work Bahsan is an avid reader and loves to spend her free time with her children.
